We offer a broad range of free computer, smartphone and tablet usage related workshops for children, teens, and adults each month. All workshops are taught in English and are geared for both those new to technology and those with moderate levels of experience and knowledge of the latest technologies.
Rest assured, our courses will be stress-free and fun no matter how intimidating computers, tablets and smartphones may seem, by the end of our workshops you will have the confidence to use your newly gained or refined skills right away.
Due to growing demands, we are offering a number of workshops on the weekends so that families can learn together and benefit from the workshops as a family bonding experience.

Introduction to Computers – This workshop introduces participants to basic computer concepts, vocabulary and software and hardware components of typical computers and peripherals. By the end of the workshop learners are able to identify key computer components, understand what function they perform and how to use and maintain their computers.
Computer Basics – Through the prevalence of hands-on projects, workshop attendees will learn how to connect to a wired and wireless network and will learn basic networking concepts. Participants will also benefit from learning how to initiate an Internet session and basic use of the World Wide Web, email, instant messengers, and how to send files via email from their computer to another person. Hands-on projects are the key focus of this workshop and emphasis will be placed on open dialogs on subjects related to internet protocols, software and hardware, and what is needed to access the Internet from home an away from home.
Computer Literacy – This workshop will provide an overview on computers, operating systems and software, Internet basics, communicating online with technology and protecting you and your families identity while using the Internet.
Introduction to Windows 8 – This workshop is designed to help users who are new to Windows operating systems or who have worked with previous versions of Windows seeking a summation of the new features and means of basic navigation. Windows 8 is quite different and far more modularized than previous versions, understanding where to look for key programs and files will be easy once you have completed this workshop. Windows 8 allows for the installation of many free productivity and lifestyle applications, we will show you how to safely download and use some of the common applications.
Introduction to MAC Operating Systems – New to the Mac? Learn the basics of the Mac operating system including how to launch programs, use the finder, manage your desktop, create & manage files, access programs, and get started with photos, media & movies!
Overview of the Microsoft Office and Open Office Application Suite – This workshop is geared towards all participants who are interested in learning what applications are available, what each does, and how to generate
Overview of Internet Based Job Searches- This workshop is ideal for those entering the workplace for the first time or those re-entering the job market after some time away. We will go over several of the top recruiting web sites, career specific job offerrings, and more. For those unfamiliar with resume writing we will spend a brief amount of time reviewing a few example resumes from different career fields to give an idea of how to jump start your resume and prepare for electronic submittal of it to employers. This will be a hands on workshop and question asking is highly encouraged.
How to Participate in Social Media via Smartphones, Tablets and Computers- Overview of Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn, and alternative social media mechanisms that can be used for job resources, communicating with family and friends and keeping up to date with the latest trends around the community and world.
We will go over how to access various social media mechanisms, the common uses for them and how to create accounts and profiles for each of them. This will cover downloading applications from both the Apple Apps Store and the Android Application Store.
How to use your Tablet or Smartphone Effectively and Efficiently – This workshop will cover how to search for, install and use common applications, cover basic navigation and configuration settings within the iPad and Tablets common to the workshop.
